Vocalist Fran Barton

The very experienced and popular television and radio recording artiste. She has a wide repertoire, including popular jazz standards in the Dianne Kral, Ella Fitzgerald and Carol King styles, humorous and quirky songs, Latin American (in Spanish as well as English), and Classic Hits. Fran and Kevin have worked together since the seventies...as a duo or up to five or six piece depending on the setting. "Los Gringos" is our Latin band incarnation. Presently appearing monthly at The Village Inn Raumati and the Jetty at Petone, and private functions, weddings, etc.

Solo piano, duo with Fran or plus bass and drums. Instrumental jazz trio or quartet if required.

We are a ‘covers band’ who really enjoy playing an eclectic music book from the 50s though to more recent times. And a few others as we feel!

These musicians in Mana Blues all live in the Plimmerton - Porirua area.  We are passionate about our music and are dedicated to having fun with people we play for.

The members of the band have played in groups over the last 40 years covering a large range of styles including folk, blues, country rock and jazz.

This Plimmerton line up includes Jill Leighton - our lovely vocalist; Colin Bleasdale - our resident skins man; lead guitarist and vocalist David Lowe; Don Johnson on key boards; ‘our own Elvis’ in the form of John Spenser and pushing us all along on his bass is John ‘Profundo’ McCoy.

The most recent gig was on New Year’s Eve for the Polish Association in Wellington, this great group of dancing enthusiasts kept us going through to 1:45am 1.1.12. !!
